MLB Advanced Media reviving 'RBI Baseball' video game

By Mike Axisa | Baseball Writer

If you grew up in the 1980s, chances are you played RBI Baseball for Nintendo. It was the first console game licensed by the players' union, meaning it was the first game to feature actual MLB players. It was awesome. You have no idea how many hours I wasted on that game during my youth.

On Tuesday night, the fine folks at MLB Advanced Media announced they will revive the game after a nearly two-decade hiatus. Here's the announcement:

The game's website is still under construction but I can't wait to see the graphics and the gameplay. Will it be a hardcore baseball game like MLB The Show, or a more casual, arcade-like game? I'm really hoping it's the latter, but that's just me.

Either way, thanks to everyone at MLBAM for allowing me to relive part of me childhood.
