The biggest pitching contract in baseball history (but only the second largest contract of the offseason!) was handed out on Wednesday. The Dodgers and ace left-hander Clayton Kershaw agreed to a seven-year, $215 million deal with an opt-out after the fifth year. It is the richest contract in history in terms of average annual value ($30.7 million).

The Dodgers and Kershaw hammered out the deal two days before the deadline for teams and arbitration-eligible players to file salary figures. One-hundred-and-forty-six players officially filed for arbitration on Tuesday and a bunch of them will sign new contracts before Friday's filing deadline. Here's a recap of Wednesday's hot stove news.
