PHOTOS: Former Twins home, the Metrodome, deflated

By Matt Snyder | Baseball Writer

Though the Minnesota Twins have been in Target Field now for several seasons, the Metrodome holds and obvious place in the history of the franchise, having housed the Twins from 1982-2009. The run included seven playoff berths and two World Series championships.

Saturday, the dome was deflated for the final time as the NFL's Vikings are set to build a new stadium (mostly) on site.

From the Vikings' official Twitter feed, here are some photos of the deflation (click on any of the pictures for a full-size version).

As for a parting Metrodome memory that involves the Twins? How about this one?

Good bye, Metrodome.
