The Braves have agreed to bring back veteran pitcher Freddy Garcia on a minor-league deal worth $1.25 million, reports Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com. The deal includes "big incentives for starts, lesser incentives for relief," per Heyman.

Garcia, 37, joined the Braves down the stretch last season and provided quality work, appearing three times in relief and starting three times in the regular season. He went 1-2 with a 1.65 ERA (237 ERA+), 1.02 WHIP and 20 strikeouts in 27 1/3 innings for the Braves, his seventh MLB club.

Garcia also gave the Braves an unlikely gem in must-win Game 4 of the NLDS against the Dodgers, going six innings and allowing two earned runs. He was in position for the win to send the series back to Atlanta before the bullpen blew the game.

The Braves opening day rotation appears to be Kris Medlen, Mike Minor, Julio Teheran, Brandon Beachy and Alex Wood, but there's some youth and an injury concern with Beachy. So Garcia provides depth.
