Unsurprisingly, baseball news was rather slow on Super Bowl Sunday. Pitchers and catchers are due to report to spring training in two weeks or so, so I imagine the market for the remaining big name free agents will pick up this coming week. Here's a recap of the day's hot stove news.
RUMORS & SPECULATION
RHP Bronson Arroyo: Still seeking a three-year deal, or at least a two-year deal with a vesting option. The Diamondbacks and Dodgers could get involved if he's willing to take a straight two-year contract. (Boston Globe)
Giants: GM Brian Sabean said he doesn't have the "flexibility" to add another free agent starting pitcher. (San Francisco Chronicle)
Marlins: Team president David Sampson said the team is still seeking depth players. "Certainly, you're looking at some potential non-roster invites. We're looking to bring people in to compete, because you just don't know," he said. (MLB.com)
