It's Feb. 7, 1994, and 20 years ago on this day basketball legend Michael Jordan inked a minor-league contract with the White Sox ...

As the tweet above implies, Jordan began his very brief professional baseball career with the Double-A Birmingham Barons, and there he would remain for all 127 games he played that season. Over that span, Jordan batted .202/.289/.266 with three home runs and 30 stolen bases in 48 attempts. At first blush, those numbers aren't very impressive, but remember we're talking about a 31-year-old who hadn't played organized baseball since high school.

If nothing else, Jordan's vanity project got people talking.
