In Monday night's "All you need to know," we noted that the Rangers had cleared second baseman Jurickson Profar to begin a throwing program. The very next morning, however, the team changed course. As Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News writes, the Rangers have now shut down Profar because of ongoing shoulder tendinitis. Profar will neither throw nor swing a bat for at least the next week.

Profar, who turns 21 this week, is widely regarded as one of the top young talents in all of baseball. In 341 major-league plate appearances, he's batted .231/.301/.343 with seven homers. Coming into the 2013 season, Profar was ranked as the top overall prospect in the game by both Baseball America and

The offseason trade of Ian Kinsler to the Tigers opened up the Rangers' second base job for Profar.
