Canadian chain attempts to lure Ervin Santana with free pizza

By Matt Snyder | Baseball Writer

AXISA: Who needs Santana more, Jays or O's?

Free agent starting pitcher Ervin Santana seems to be getting close to signing with someone, and the two favorites at this point are the Orioles and Blue Jays. Boston Pizza -- a Canadian chain with 350 locations -- is greasing the wheel for Santana-to-Blue Jays:

With Santana reportedly working around the $14 million mark for a one-year deal, he can certainly afford the 100 pizzas, but the charity for local children is enticing and the outreach is obviously more about the spirit than the pizza itself.

Your move, Baltimore restaurants (something has to involve crab cakes, right?).
