The Miami Marlins -- despite having a shiny-new ballpark -- ranked 29th of 30 MLB teams in attendance last season. It doesn't appear things are set to change, either, because fans can purchase opening-day tickets on Groupon for as little as $13. And that's not all.
Here are the options:
- $13 for one ticket in the Vista Level, plus a voucher for the same seating at a game in April or May (a $15 value for the voucher; a $37 total value)
- $20 for one ticket in the Bullpen Reserved seating area, plus a voucher for the same seating at a game in April or May (a $20 value for the voucher; a $46 total value)
- $33 for one ticket in the Lexus Legends Level, plus a voucher for the same seating at a game in April or May (a $25 value for the voucher; a $69 total value)
That's right, Marlins fans. You can go to two different games for as low as $13, total.
Phenom pitcher Jose Fernandez takes the hill on opening day against the Rockies, so the Marlins have a pretty good chance at winning. Perhaps most importantly -- at least to owner Jeffrey Loria -- Fernandez will only be making $635,000 this season. You know they love their bargains, whether on premium starting pitching, tax-funded stadiums or tickets on Groupon.
