Friday, it was revealed that A's starters Jarrod Parker and A.J. Griffin each had an arm issue that needed medical attention. Parker's meeting with Dr. James Andrews for his forearm stiffness is Monday, but Griffin has already met with his doctor and gotten some good news.

Griffin missed time due to elbow inflammation last season, so this is nothing new. With him needing three weeks totally off, he'll obviously begin the season on the DL.

Griffin, 26, was 14-10 with a 3.83 ERA (97 ERA+), 1.13 WHIP and 171 strikeouts last season. He topped the majors with 36 homers allowed.

Should Parker join Griffin on the DL to begin the season, the A's are looking at a season-opening rotation of Scott Kazmir, Sonny Gray, Dan Straily, Tommy Milone and Jesse Chavez.
