Friday night in Montreal, the Mets and Blue Jays faced off in an exhibition game in Olympic Stadium, former home of the Montreal Expos. During the pre-game ceremonies, several former Expos were honored -- including the late, great Gary Carter.
Here's video footage, with Carter's wife and daughter looking on:
Very well done, Montreal.
Carter perished at the young age of 57 due to brain cancer.
It was especially fitting that this tribute took place in Montreal and with the Mets playing there. Of his 19 years in the bigs, Carter played 12 for the Expos and five for the Mets. He was enshrined into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2003.
