All 30 Major League Baseball teams have played at least one game in this our 2014 season. It's a beautiful thing. Let's dive in to our quick and dirty roundup of the day in news.

ROSTER MOVES

Blue Jays: They signed free agent infielder Juan Francisco (Hector Gomez).

Cubs: Starting pitcher Joel Pineiro (remember him?) was signed to a minor-league deal (Hiram Torraca).

Yankees: Eduardo Nunez was designated for assignment, the club announced.

INJURY UPDATES

Blue Jays: Jose Reyes' MRI showed mild inflammation in his hamstring (Shi Davidi).

Dodgers: Matt Kemp will probably be activated from the disabled list Friday, per manager Don Mattingly (MLB.com). Clayton Kershaw needs more rest and might miss all of April due to his ailing back. Finally, Brian Wilson has been placed on the DL with an elbow injury.

Mets: Jonathon Niese (elbow) worked five innings in a simulated game, throwing 76 pitches (Jared Diamond). Closer Bobby Parnell might need surgery on his throwing elbow.

Nationals: Catcher Wilson Ramos needs hamate bone surgery in his left hand and might miss two months.

Rangers: Yu Darvish (neck) felt strong during an 86-pitch bullpen session.

Yankees: Backup infielder Brendan Ryan has been placed on the DL with a nerve issue, the club announced.

MISCELLANY

Braves: Ervin Santana is likely only going to need one minor-league start before joining the Braves' rotation.

Cubs: President Theo Epstein is done talking about the status of ace Jeff Samardzija (chicagotribune.com).

Rockies: They plan to make qualifying offers to free-agents-to-be Jorge De La Rosa and Michael Cuddyer (Jon Heyman). Heyman speculates that Cuddyer might accept his offer, too.
