In Milwaukee on Wednesday, Aaron Harang of the Braves and his opposite number Matt Garza, in his Brewers debut, each carried a no-hitter into the seventh inning. Garza lost his on a Chris Johnson solo homer with two outs, while Logan Schafer notched a ground-ball single up the middle off Harang to start the home half of the seventh. The Braves wound up winning the game by a score of 1-0.

Harang's afternoon ended with 6 2/3 innings, two hits, three strikeouts, two walks, and 63 of his 97 pitches for strikes. Of Garza's 90 pitches, 65 went for strikes. He also struck out seven and walked one over eight innings and recorded 10 ground-outs.

The 35-year-old Harang, who was signed just days ago as a rotation stop-gap for the injury-riddled Braves, is coming off a 2013 season in which he logged an ERA of 5.40 for the Mariners and Mets.

As for Garza, 30, he's in the first year -- the first start -- of a four-year, $50-million contract he signed with the Brewers this offseason.
