I have a feeling that this is going to be a bit of a refrain in 2014: Marlins punisher Giancarlo Stanton has just killed a baseball. Please witness his handiwork in the first inning on Friday night against Eric Stults and the Padres ...

And the people say: Gasp.

According to ESPN Stats & Info, Stanton's mighty clout traveled 484 feet and was the longest homer in the short history of Marlins Park.

Mercy, Giancarlo, mercy.
