Robertson, 28, has been one of the better late-inning relievers in baseball the past three seasons and has taken over the role of closer from the legend, Mariano Rivera. So far, Robertson had fared very well, working three shutout innings and recording two saves in two chances.
Monday, the Yankees had a two-run lead late in the game and they went with Adam Warren in the eighth inning and Shawn Kelley grabbed the save with a spotless ninth -- so that's a possible look at how things might shake out with Robertson on the shelf.
This is the second time in Robertson's career that he's been on the DL. He spent 34 days there in 2012 with an oblique issue.
