On Thursday night against the White Sox, 24-year-old Indians right-hander Danny Salazar gave up five earned -- including a pair of homers -- and lasted just 3 2/3 innings.

As it turns out, each of the preceding sentences is true. Here, look at Salazar's line for the game in question ...

To repeat the earlier descriptive: lousy yet dominant. After all, "lousy" is an accurate way to describe an outing in which the hurler in question posts an ERA of 12.26 for the game, just as "dominant" is a way to describe an outing in which the hurler in question gets to double figures in strikeouts in less that four innings.
