Reds left-hander Aroldis Chapman will throw a bullpen session on Monday, he told reporters. It will be his first time back on a mound since being hit in the face by a line drive late in spring training.

Chapman, 26, suffered a mild concussion and had to have a plate and screws inserted around his eye to repair bone following the incident. He did escape with no serious brain injury, thankfully. It could have been much worse.

There is no timetable for Chapman's return to the team just yet. Given the nature of his injuries, expect the club to take is slow as he works his way back.

The Reds have been using a closer by committee while Chapman is sidelined. Lefty Manny Parra has the team's only save, though righty J.J. Hoover blew another opportunity.
