Who had April 12 in the "when does Brett Anderson get injured" pool? Because whoever you are, you win.

Anderson was the Rockies starter Saturday in San Francisco and worked three shutout innings before having to leave with a left index finger contusion, the club announced. There's no word just yet how much, if any, additional time Anderson will miss but my guess is a bruise won't be enough to force a DL stint. Still, a bad bruise could cause him to miss at least one start, due to trouble with gripping his pitches.

Anderson's injury history is pretty well documented. He's had some pretty awful luck. Since his 2009 rookie season, he only managed 43 total starts from 2010-13 and this was just his third start of the 2014 season. He's had DL stints due to his elbow and foot while having also dealt with back, thumb, abdominal, knee and blister issues at various times in his career.

So far this season, Anderson is 0-2 with a 3.60 ERA.
