Baseball is a monotonous game. We all know it. If you've seen one ground out to short, you've seen them all. If you've seen one umpire make an out call, you've seen them all. Well, not necessarily. Second base umpire Dana Demuth decided to add a little flair to an out call on a caught stealing play on Wednesday night:
Glorious. Rather than the usual shake of the fist, Demuth added the leg kick and fist pump. Looks like there was some anger behind it too. I'm guessing that if we could see his face, Demuth said "BOOM!" as he made the call. How could he not?
Thank you for breaking the monotony, Mr. Demuth.
