Here's more bad news for the struggling and disappointing Diamondbacks, and it concerns slugging outfielder Mark Trumbo and his injured left foot ...

Trumbo missed the last two games with what had been described as a "sore foot," but it now appears to be much more serious than that. If the above diagnosis is confirmed, then Trumbo will likely be facing a lengthy absence. Suffice it to say, that would be a blow to the already reeling Diamondbacks. This season, Trumbo, age 28, is batting .210/.264/.506 with seven home runs in 21 games. He's coming off a 2013 season in which he hit 34 homers for the Angels.

This past offseason, the D-backs acquired Trumbo in a three-way trade with the White Sox and Angels -- a deal that required Arizona to part with Tyler Skaggs and Adam Eaton.
