The rich get richer in the rotation, as the Atlanta Braves are set to welcome starting pitcher Mike Minor back on the mound Friday, the club announced Tuesday.

The Braves enter Tuesday's action with a ridiculous 1.57 rotation ERA, easily the best in all of baseball. Minor will take the spot of the worst one of the bunch, David Hale. Not that "worst" means anything close to bad, because Hale would've been the best pitcher to this point on several pitching staffs (he has a 2.31 ERA through four starts).

Minor, 26, has made his way back from a bout with shoulder tendinitis during the spring. In five rehab outings, he has a 4.43 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 19 strikeouts in 22 1/3 innings. In 32 starts last season, Minor went 13-9 with a 3.21 ERA (120 ERA+), 1.09 WHIP and 181 strikeouts in 204 2/3 innings.

The Braves looked like they might have rotation problems after Minor's injury, teamed with losing both Brandon Beachy and Kris Medlen to Tommy John surgery, but Hale stepped up while lingering free agent Ervin Santana was signed and Aaron Harang was picked up from basically the scrap heap.
