On Friday the Brewers placed right-handed reliever Jim Henderson on the 15-day DL because of shoulder inflammation. To take Henderson's spot on the active roster, the Brewers have recalled outfielder Caleb Gindl from Triple-A.

While Henderson has struggled this season -- 10 runs allowed in 14 appearances -- and shown diminished velocity, the 31-year-old is coming off a 2013 season in which he pitched to 2.70 ERA and 3.13 K/BB ratio in 60 innings of work.

Henderson hasn't been effective in 2014, but this is still a blow to a Milwaukee bullpen that's been worked pretty hard this season, especially in recent days.
