Padres: Signed Cuban RHP Odrisamer Despaigne to a minor league contract, the team announced. The deal is worth $1 million at the MLB level.
Tigers: Signed RHP Joel Hanrahan to a one-year deal worth $1 million guaranteed, the team announced. He can earn another $2 million through incentives.
Brewers: RHP Matt Garza (thumb) threw a successful bullpen session and has been cleared to make his next start on Monday, according to multiple reports ... RHP Jim Henderson was placed on the 15-day DL with shoulder inflammation.
Padres: 3B Chase Headley (calf) has already resumed full baseball activities and is expected to be activated off the DL when eligible on May 10 (San Diego Union Tribune) ... OF Carlos Quentin (knee) will begin a minor league rehab assignment on Saturday. (MLB.com)
