Twins outfielder Byron Buxton, the consensus top prospect in all of baseball, was activated off the minor league disabled list on Sunday. He went 0 for 4 with two strikeouts for Fort Myers of the Florida State League (advanced Class A).

Buxton, 20, suffered a wrist injury in spring training and had to start the minor league season on the shelf. He played in some extended spring training games as a tuneup and is expected to remain with Fort Myers for at least a few weeks before moving up to Double-A.

In 125 games split between two Single-A levels last season, Buxton hit .334/.424/.520 with 19 doubles, 18 triples, 12 home runs and 55 stolen bases. Baseball America named him their Minor League Player of the Year over the winter.

The Twins selected Buxton with the second overall pick in the 2012 draft. Baseball America said his "combination of tools and production made him the talk of the minor leagues" in their 2014 Prospect Handbook.
