Mets first baseman Lucas Duda was hospitalized with a stomach ailment on Friday, manager Terry Collins announced. The bug left him dehydrated.

"He's getting an IV, because he couldn't keep any fluids down," said Collins to Adam Rubin of ESPN New York.

Collins was not sure how long Duda would remain at the hospital but did say he could rejoin the team as soon as Friday night. He might even be available to pinch-hit.

In 31 games this season, the 28-year-old Duda has hit .266/.355/.426 (123 OPS+) with four home runs. He took over as the everyday first baseman after Ike Davis was traded to the Pirates.
