Friday's on-field action was dominated by Yu Darvish, who lost a no-hitter against the defending World Series champion Red Sox with two outs in the ninth. David Ortiz pulled a seeing eye single through the infield shift. Had Darvish completed the no-hitter, it would have come with a controversial error call.

Marlins: Agreed to a minor league contract with RHP Alex Sanabia, who will report to Triple-A. (MLB Daily Dish)

Orioles: GM Dan Duquette acknowledged making long-term contract offers to Chris Davis and Matt Wieters, both of whom can be free agents after next season. “I like Chris and Matt on the ballclub, but having said that, we've already made that effort, and I'm not really going to be discussing that this year during the season with those players," said Duquette. Phillies: RHP Shawn Camp elected free agency after being outrighted off the 40-man roster, the team announced.

Rays: Signed 1B/OF Shelley Duncan, C Lou Marson and RHP Adam Russell to minor league contracts. (Baseball America)

Twins: Activated OF Aaron Hicks (concussion) off the 7-day DL, the team announced. 1B/OF Chris Parmelee was also called up. OF Kenny Wilson was designated for assignment to clear a 40-man roster spot for Parmelee.

Astros: C Jason Castro (hand) hopes to return to the lineup on Saturday. He has not played since Wednesday after being hit with a backwing (Houston Chronicle) ... RHP Matt Albers (shoulder) had his simulated game cancelled due to discomfort. (Houston Chronicle)

Athletics: OF Coco Crisp (neck) is likely to undergo an MRI. He hurt himself crashing into the wall earlier this week (Bay Area News Group) ... RHP Ryan Cook was placed on the 15-day DL with a right forearm strain, the team announced.

Blue Jays: 3B Brett Lawrie (hamstring) is likely to return to the lineup this weekend, manager John Gibbons announced.

Cardinals: LHP Jaime Garcia (shoulder, elbow) will make his next minor league rehab start on Monday. (

Dodgers: LHP Hyun-Jin Ryu (shoulder inflammation) played catch for the first time since landing on the DL (Los Angeles Times) ... 3B Juan Uribe (hamstring) was held out of Saturday's lineup and is day-to-day ( ... Giants: 1B Brandon Belt suffered a broken left thumb on a hit by pitch.

Indians: 2B Jason Kipnis (oblique) will take some dry swings this weekend. (

Mariners: 3B Kyle Seager was scratched from Friday's game with flu-like symptoms. He is day-to-day. (

Mets: RHP Matt Harvey hopes to begin throwing off a mound within a month as he rehabs from Tommy John surgery ... 1B Lucas Duda was hospitalized with a stomach ailment.

Orioles: 1B Chris Davis (oblique) will begin a minor league rehab assignment on Saturday (Baltimore Sun) ... OF Henry Urrutia will miss 6-8 weeks with a sports hernia. (MASN Sports)

Rangers: 2B Jurickson Profar (shoulder) will get some at-bats in an extended spring training game on Monday. (Fort Worth Star-Telegram)

Rays: RHP Alex Cobb (oblique) felt "real good" during a three-inning simulated game (Tampa Bay Times) ... SS Yunel Escobar left Friday's game with a thumb contusion and is day-to-day, the team announced.

Reds: LHP Aroldis Chapman is likely to be activated off the DL on Saturday, manager Bryan Price announced ... C Devin Mesoraco (hamstring) is likely to be activated off the DL on Sunday. (Cincinnati Enquirer)

Rockies: RF Michael Cuddyer (hamstring) did some light running and took batting practice on Friday. (Denver Post)

Tigers: RHP Anibal Sanchez (blister) threw a successful bullpen session and is expected to face hitters next week. He is on track to be activated off the DL on May 18. (

Twins: 1B Joe Mauer (back) was again not in the lineup and remains day-to-day ( ... OF Josh Willingham (wrist) will take batting practice on Sunday. (

Yankees: RHP Shawn Kelley is day-to-day with a tight lower back, the team announced. A precautionary MRI came back clean.


Angels: LHP Hector Santiago has been demoted to the bullpen.

Athletics: LHP Drew Pomeranz will remain in the team's rotation, replacing RHP Dan Straily. (San Francisco Chronicle)

Braves: LHP Alex Wood is moving to the bullpen and RHP Gavin Floyd will remain in the rotation, the team announced.

Pirates: Major League Baseball upheld the suspensions for both C Russell Martin (one game) and OF Travis Snider (two games) following their appeal, it was announced. The suspensions stem from the team's recent brawl with the Brewers.

Reds: 3B Todd Frazier hit the longest home run of the 2014 season to date, a mammoth 485 foot blast.

Rockies: 3B Nolan Arenado had his hitting streak snapped at 28 games, exactly halfway to Joe DiMaggio's record.
