Regarding the sore right quad of Nationals first baseman Adam LaRoche, here's the official word:

That's a blow to the Nats, in that LaRoche this season has been one of their most productive hitters: .319/.421/.504 (158 OPS+) with five homers in 32 games. As James Wagner of the Washington Post tweets, LaRoche sounds optimistic that he'll be able to return when first eligible.

The Nats haven't yet announced a corresponding roster move, but a recall of Tyler Moore seems a good possibility.

LaRoche will join fellow lineup regulars Bryce Harper and Ryan Zimmerman on the DL.
