The Blue Jays will get some much-needed bullpen help, as closer Casey Janssen has been activated from the disabled list. As a corresponding move, second baseman Chris Getz was designated for assignment. The club made the announcement official Sunday morning.

Janssen, 32, converted 34 of his 36 save chances (94 percent) last season with a 2.56 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 50 strikeouts in 52 2/3 innings. Janssen suffered from shoulder soreness in spring training and then a lower back issue throughout the early part of this season. He's yet to throw a pitch in MLB action this season.

Without Janssen, the Blue Jays bullpen has posted a 4.77 ERA, which ranks 27th in all of baseball. They've blown five saves and taken nine bullpen losses.

With Janssen back to anchor things, Aaron Loup and Steve Delabar can handle setup duties while Sergio Santos (9.00 ERA, two blown saves) can attempt to sort out his issues in lower-leverage situations.
