Yankees starting pitcher CC Sabathia has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with right knee inflammation, the club announced Sunday. As a corresponding move, right-handed pitcher Matt Daley was recalled from Triple-A.

Sabathia, 33, is 3-4 with a 5.28 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and 48 strikeouts in 46 innings through eight starts this season. After leading the majors in earned runs allowed last season, he currently leads the majors in home runs allowed this season.

With Sabathia joining Michael Pineda and Ivan Nova on the DL, the Yankees are now left with Vidal Nuno, David Phelps and Alfredo Aceves in the rotation behind Masahiro Tanaka and Hiroki Kuroda in the rotation.
