The Washington Nationals were just swept in Oakland by a combined count of 21-4 in a three-game series. To rub salt into the wound, the Nationals appeared to have a problem -- at least briefly -- between Sunday's starting pitcher Gio Gonzalez and at least one teammate. Here's the footage, along with the play that seems to have angered Gonzalez:

On that dropped pop up, it went foul and the batter, Yoenis Cespedes, ended up walking in front of a three-run homer by Derek Norris -- Norris' second three-run bomb of the game.

Gonzalez ended up allowing seven earned runs on nine hits and three walks in just 4 1/3 innings.

As for the direction of the tirade, catcher Jose Lobaton told reporters that Gonzalez was yelling at shortstop Ian Desmond, per masnsports.com. But to hear it from the two supposedly involved parties ...

"Nothing happened," Gonzalez said.

Said Desmond: "I think I missed that."

Considering the Nationals will probably move forward with a "keep it in house" mentality, we'll probably never know what actually happened. Which is fine, because it's probably not a huge deal once the dust settles.
