An MRI on the ailing right elbow of Yankees outfielder Carlos Beltran has revealed a bone spur, tweets WFAN's Sweeny Murti. Beltran had a cortisone shot and for now will attempt to play through the pain on a day-to-day basis. An eventual trip to the DL of course remains a possibility.
This season, the 37-year-old Beltran is batting .230/.286/.430 (95 OPS+) with five homers in 33 games. For his career, he owns an OPS+ of 122 and has tallied 363 homers and 2,258 hits across parts of 17 big-league seasons.
Beltran is in the first year of a three-year, $45-million contract with New York.
