Lingering tightness of the right hamstring has forced Blue Jays center fielder Colby Rasmus to the 15-day disabled list. Ramus first sustained the injury Monday and had been hoping that a few days of rest would allow him to avoid be deactivated. To take Rasmus's spot on the active roster, the Jays have recalled outfielder Anthony Gose.
This season, Rasmus, age 27, is batting .222/.266/.489 (102 OPS) with nine homers in 37 games. For his career, he owns an OPS+ of 103 across parts of six major-league seasons. He's eligible for free agency next offseason.
