CBSSports.com's Jon Heyman has learned that veteran infielder Miguel Tejada has signed a minor-league contract with the Marlins.

Since last season, Tejada has been serving a 105-game suspension for his testing positive for an amphetamine. He'll be eligible to play at the MLB level starting with the Marlins' 65th game of the 2014 season (June 10, assuming no rainouts). Beginning May 31, Tejada will be eligible to play in games at the Double-A level or lower.

Tejada, now 39, batted .288/.317/.378 in 53 games for the Royals last season. The six-time All-Star and 2002 AL MVP has 307 homers across parts of 16 big-league seasons. Tejada's last productive season came in 2010 with the Astros.
