As Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel writes, Brewers outfielder Khris Davis recently received a death threat over Twitter. The Brewers reported the threat to MLB, and the league's investigative arm soon thereafter informed the team that the matter had been handled. Here's more from Haudricourt:

Davis said he received the death threat on Twitter while the team was in Chicago on the last road trip. He told club officials, who contacted MLB's investigative wing.

The tweet, attributed to "Xero Vanderbilt," referenced Davis' Twitter handle and, using a racial epithet, said "You (sic) family should all be killed."

The 26-year-old Davis owns a .260/.313/.516 in 339 plate appearances spread across parts of two big-league seasons.

It's entirely possible this was some sub-moron's idea of a "joke," but regardless of intent such behavior is patently unacceptable. Credit to Davis, the Brewers and MLB for handling the matter swiftly and with seriousness.
