Well-regarded Blue Jays right-hander Marcus Stroman made the first start of his big-league career on Saturday against the Royals, and it was a roundly successful one (6 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 6 K, 0BB in Toronto's 12-2 thumping of KC).

Regarding Stroman's general smothering of the Royals' bats, it's safe to say that his slider left an impression on Eric Hosmer ...

And the lip-readers intone: "Wow."

It's often perilous for the right-handed twirler to offer up his slider to the left-handed hitter. Suffice it to say, young Mr. Stroman is probably not daunted in such a manner.
