Bad news on #Rays Myers - out at least 2 months. Has slight stress fracture, in cast 5-6 weeks, then starts rehab— Marc Topkin (@TBTimes_Rays) June 3, 2014
Myers, 23, hurt his wrist on the final play of the game, when he crashed into center fielder Desmond Jennings trying to catch a fly ball. The two collided and Myers tumbled over onto the wrist.
In 53 games this season, Myers has hit .227/.313/.354 (89 OPS+) with five home runs. Needless to say, that is a far cry from the .293/.354/.478 (132 OPS+) batting line he put up last season.
With Myers out, the Rays have been playing Ben Zobrist and Kevin Kiemaier in right field.
