Rays bring in medicine man to end losing streak (it's not working)

After dropping 12 out of 13 and authoring the worst record in baseball, the Rays got creative/desperate and brought in a medicine man to attempt to rid the Trop of a presumably dark and spectral presence. Here's more from Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times ...

The team brought Bobby Henry, a medicine man with the Seminole Tribe, to try to snap out of their current funk - a stretch of 12 losses in their last 13 games.

"We just turned him loose on the Trop," Maddon said.

Henry, 77, walked around Tropicana Field before today's 1:10 game against Seattle and spent time in the Rays' dugout before the game.

Of relevance is that the Rays promptly lost the above-referenced game by a score of 3-0. The temptation is to say that Mr. Henry's curative efforts did not work, but let's not make such correlation-causation errors. After all, perhaps, absent such doctoring, the Rays would've lost 10-0.

What I'm saying is that the glib parenthetical in the headline above needs to settle down and give this thing some time to take hold.
