After the last of the NCAA super regionals wrapped up on Monday, we now know which eight teams are headed to Omaha to participate in the College World Series. Here's a look at the initial bracket-round match-ups ...
Saturday, June 14
UC-Irvine vs. Texas
Louisville vs. Vanderbilt
Sunday June 15
Texas Tech vs. TCU
Virginia vs. Mississippi
So that's three teams from the state of Texas in the CWS. Also of note is that Louisville is the only 2014 CWS team who also made it to Omaha last year.
As for the format, it's double-elimination until we're down to the final two teams. At that point, the slate is wiped clean and it's a best-of-three series for the national championship. Last year, UCLA prevailed over Mississippi State in two games.
