In this very space on Tuesday, we noted Rockies outfielder Carlos Gonzalez had a "foreign body" removed from a finger on his left hand. It had been bothering him for weeks and after unsuccessfully trying to play through it, he had an exploratory surgery.

Turns out that foreign body is slighty more gross than initially reported:

With tentacles, huh? Couldn't just leave it at fatty mass? Had to mention the wiggly little tentacles too?

This is the stuff of nightmares, basically. I hear "fatty mass with tentacles" and think of this:

The human body is weird.
