Jose Altuve leaves game after taking pitch to right hand

Astros second baseman Jose Altuve left Thursday's game after being hit by a pitch in the right hand while squaring around to bunt. As you can see, he was in obvious pain:

Ouch. The trainer came out and Altuve headed off the field immediately. He didn't try to talk his way into remaining in the game at all. He knew he was done.

The good news is that Altuve has avoided major injury:

And exhale, Astros fans.

Altuve, 24, came into Thursday's game hitting .315/.355/.423 (116 OPS+) with 20 doubles and two home runs. He leads the league in plate appearances (301), at-bats (279), hits (88) and stolen bases (24).
