The Oakland Athletics have acquired left-handed pitcher Brad Mills from the Brewers in exchange for cash considerations, the clubs have announced.

Get this, if the following report is accurate, Mills was essentially given to the A's:

It doesn't appear that's a typo, either, because it's been two hours and Rosenthal -- normally very accurate and thorough -- hasn't changed it.

Mills, 29, is 3-3 with a 7.76 ERA in 15 big-league appearances in parts of four seasons, though he hasn't pitched in the majors since 2012, when he threw five shutout innings in a spot start for the Angels.

And in Triple-A this season, Mills is 4-2 with a 1.56 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 77 strikeouts in 75 innings in the hitter-friendly Pacific Coast League.

Given what we've seen the A's do with Jesse Chavez this season, there's reason to believe Mills could have an impact. In fact, he's likely to take Drew Pomeranz's vacated rotation spot this coming Saturday.

The A's head into Tuesday with a 4.5 game lead in the AL West over the Angels.
