Indy-league team to wear women's unis to honor breast cancer survivors

Here, courtesy of Ballpark Digest, is what the independent-league San Rafael Pacifics will be wearing for their game on June 27 ...


Those are women's baseball uniforms -- not unlike the ones worn in the movie A League of Their Own -- and the Pacifics will be brandishing them in game action to honor breast cancer survivors. According to Ballpark Digest, the Pacifics will become the first men's pro team ever to wear dresses in a game. I'm not entirely sure how that's verifiable, but it sounds true enough.

Anyhow, the Digest has more on Tom Hanks' involvement in the promotion and how all of this will go toward fighting breast cancer. Well done all around.
