Class A Lynchburg no-hits Wilmington two consecutive games

By Matt Snyder | Baseball Writer

More Minors: Dylan Bundy dominating in Class A

The Lynchburg Hillcats (Class A-Advanced affiliate of the Braves) threw a no-hitter against the Wilmington Blue Rocks (Royals affiliate) on Thursday night (MiLB.com box score). And then again on Friday night (MiLB.com box score).

On Thursday, Lucas Sims was the starter for the Hillcats and he worked seven hitless innings -- though he did allow a run, thanks in part to four walks. Alex Wilson came on to finish things up with two hitless, scoreless innings of his own en route to a 5-1 victory.

Friday, Cody Scarpetta dominated for seven innings, allowing only a walk while striking out seven. Benino Pruneda would follow with two hitless innings of his own and the back-to-back no-hitters were complete.

The Blue Rocks have a few name prospects in Raul Mondesi and Bubba Starling.
