You'll recall that a frustrated Manny Machado of the Orioles did this against the Athletics on June 8 ...

For those actions, the O's 21-year-old third baseman received a five-game suspension -- a decision that Machado subsequently appealed. Now, word on that appeal has come down ...

Machado, then, will miss all four games at home against the Rangers and then sit out the opener of the three-game road set against the Red Sox.

This season, Machado is batting .239/.291/.371 (83 OPS+) with seven homers in 54 games. His start to the season was delayed because of his recovery from knee surgery. Last season, Machado as a rookie tallied an AL-leading 51 doubles and won the Gold Glove.
