In the last American League All-Star vote update, we noted that Athletics outfielder Yoenis Cespedes was closing ground on Melky Cabrera of the Blue Jays. In Monday's update -- the final update in the AL before the results of the fan balloting are announced -- Cespedes has indeed taken hold of the third starting spot.

Here's the full update ...

Yes, there's Cespedes with the narrowest of leads over Cabrera. Elsewhere, Jose Bautista remains the top overall vote-getter in the junior circuit, and the remainder of the starting nine remains unchanged. Orioles catcher Matt Wieters is, of course, out for the season, so he won't be participating in the All-Star Game. There he is, just the same.

The teams will be announced this coming Sunday, and the All-Star Game itself goes down on July 15 at Target Field in Minneapolis. Expect the final NL update on Tuesday.
