Yankees reliever Alfredo Aceves has been suspended for 50 games without for a second positive test of a "drug of abuse."

Major Leaguers aren't subject to such tests -- only for PEDs -- but Aceves was in the minors and the Minor League testing program includes so-called drugs of abuse like marijuana, cocaine, heroin, etc. Postive tests for pot aren't too uncommon in the minors. And marijuana was the drug that Aceves tested positive for, reports Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com.

Aceves, 31, had a 6.52 ERA and 1.40 WHIP in 10 appearances for the Yankees this season, from May 4 through June 2. In four appearances since his demotion back to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, he's posted a 4.91 ERA.

The 50-game suspension is effective immediately.
