The Diamondbacks on Friday activated outfielder Mark Trumbo from the DL. He'll be batting fifth against the Giants on Friday night. Trumbo has been sidelined since April 21 because of a stress fracture in his left foot.

On the season, Trumbo, 28, is batting .210/.264/.506 (109 OPS+) with seven homers in 21 games for Arizona. With the Angels he totaled 95 home runs from 2011 through 2013. The Diamondbacks acquired Trumbo this past offseason in a three-way trade with the Angels and White Sox that cost them outfielder Adam Eaton and lefty Tyler Skaggs.

The Diamondbacks presently have the worst record in the National League.
