Tough break for the Giants, as first baseman Brandon Belt is headed to the disabled list with a concussion after he was struck in the face by a thrown ball during batting practice on Saturday. As Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle writes, it's not yet certain whether Belt will be placed on the 7-day concussion DL or the standard 15-day DL.

Belt recently returned to the active roster earlier in July after missing almost two months with a thumb injury. The 26-year-old is batting .242/.304/.455 (116 OPS+) on the season. He's coming off a 2013 campaign in which he put up an OPS+ of 140 and played in 150 games.
