Blue Jays slugger Edwin Encarnacion has been on the DL since July 6 with a strained right quad. Now, as Barry Davis of Sportsnet tweets, Encarnacion has suffered a setback.

It's not entirely clear what this does to Encarnacion's time-table, but MLB.com's Gregor Chisolm's hazards this educated guess:

It doesn't sound like any sort of major stumble, but the downward-trending Blue Jays very much need their best hitter back in the lineup ASAP. This season, the 31-year-old Encarnacion is batting .277/.368/.591 (160 OPS+) with 26 homers in 88 games.
