The Angels on Saturday signed veteran lefty Randy Wolf to a minor-league contract and assigned him to Triple-A Salt Lake. This means Wolf is on his fifth organization since spring training, as the Angels now join the Mariners, Diamondbacks, Marlins and Orioles as 2014 employers of Wolf.

This season, Wolf, age 37, has pitched to a 5.26 ERA in six games -- four starts -- for the Marlins. He missed the 2013 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery in October of 2012. For his career, Wolf owns an ERA+ of 100 across parts of 15 big-league seasons. His lone All-Star appearance came with the Phillies in 2003.

It seems likely that Wolf will make his way to Anaheim only in the event of an injury in the Angels' rotation.
